Personal Self-Assessment Tax Returns are due by 31st January

Tax updates:

The basic tax rate is 20%, higher rate is 40% and additional higher rate is 45%. Personal allowances have increases to £12,500 for the year 2020/21 & £12,570 for 2021/22.

The 100% Annual Investment Allowance limit (to encourage investment in plant, machinery & equipment) is currently £1million (it was £200,000 in 2018/19).

Second homes / buy to let property stamp duty of 3% is still in place.

Tax free dividend amount is £2000 from April 6th 2018.

Corporation tax rate is 19% for the year beginning 1 April 2021.
