Personal Self-Assessment Tax Returns are due by 31st January
The basic tax rate is 20%, higher rate is 40% and additional higher rate is 45%. Personal allowances have increases to £12,500 for the year 2019/20 and 2020/21.
The 100% Annual Investment Allowance limit (to encourage investment in plant, machinery & equipment) is currently £1million (it was £200,000 in 2018/19).
Second homes / buy to let property stamp duty of 3% is still in place.
Tax free dividend amount is £2000 from April 6th 2018.
Corporation tax rate has been reduced to 17% from 1 April 2020.
